As a  drummer very much in demand, Fernando Paiva is especially engaged in the bandprojects of Alegre Corrêa and Célia Mara. He has now put together his own formation, the "Fernando Paiva Group". Drawing a span between Brasilian folklore, classical music and jazz, he moves with a sure sense of style, together with his fellow musicians Reinhard Micko (p), Klaus Gesing (s, fl) and Ivan Ruiz Machado (b), towards originality.
The video "Child´s Play" brings, in an acoustic and
optical form,in a very lyrical but at the same time
humorous way, the audience closer to the artistic
background of Fernando Paiva . In addition to
Fernando´s spontaneous improvisations at washing
dishes, there are also pictures from his research-travels in his homeland Brasil, recordings
from concerts and studio-sessions. It is a pleasure,
even by repeated viewings, to look the master right
onto the fingers, when he lets the craziest rhythms to
be born.
